The course is of championship length and includes numerous challenges, primarily due to its well-placed bunkers and the presence of water hazards on all but five holes. Golfers who dare to attempt a two-shot approach to the green are likely to end up in the water. Almost every hole has a pond and stream, requiring golfers to be fully focused from the first shot, otherwise a significant number of balls will land in the water during the round. To balance these hazards, the number of bunkers around the greens is limited—of course, this fine-tuning for par is only meaningful if the first few shots remain dry and effective.
Featured holes include the 578-yard 8th hole (a par 5 with water along the entire right side of the fairway and a large lake threatening the approach shot) and the 167-yard 12th hole (a downhill par 3 requiring navigating a water hazard to reach the green, with a large stone wall behind the green).
