The course has twice hosted the Japan Open and is regarded as one of the most challenging in the country, with a course rating of 75.8. It is a seaside course facing Ishikari Bay, and overall the terrain is relatively flat. The Old Course, the oldest in Hokkaido, is a handcrafted layout shaped by sea breezes and natural depressions, creating subtle undulations. The New Course shares a similar topography, yet the presence of trees gives it a different character. The sea winds blowing in from the Sea of Japan heighten the sense of battling with nature, further emphasizing the profound depth of golf.
