The Links Shell Cove

The first eight holes of the course are set in a valley that extends into a natural wetland area next to the Kilalia Lagoon, while the remaining holes surround a hill to protect the fairways from the strong westerly winds of winter. Stretching nearly 5,500 metres from the back tees, the course has a par 70 (34 on the outward and 36 on the inward), with consecutive par threes on holes 2 and 3, as well as on holes 5 and 6.

Highlights include the first two par threes on the schedule, the 157-metre second and 169-metre third, both of which surround the same triangular pond; the two short par fours on the dog-legged seventh on the left and the sand-protected fifteenth; and back-to-back par fives, the 17th and 18th, where birdie on the second of the two finishing holes is a reasonable prospect.
