Pambula Merimbula Golf Club

Palmbra Merimbula Golf Club is set in a unique and pristine local environment surrounded by natural bushland, Lake Merimbula and Pacific Ocean beaches.

John Watson and Associates were commissioned to design an 18-hole course in two phases. The first nine holes opened in October 1974 with grass greens. The second nine holes were completed in May 1979, along with upgrades to the existing sand greens. Ten years later, Greg Smith, the course superintendent at the time, designed and built the third nine holes.

The new holes allocated today are the 6th, 13th-15th, 19th, 21st-23rd and 27th. The three 18-hole courses currently available are Palmbra (holes 1-18), Merimbula (holes 10-27) and Sapphire (holes 1-9, 19-27). The 18-hole course that is considered a ‘championship course’ is Merimbula.
