Sagami Country Club

The GDO Open was held in September 2009. This is a woodland course. The fairways appear flat and seem easy at first glance, but once the ball lands in the dense pine forests on either side, it becomes clear that the trees are tightly packed, making it tricky to handle. The course also features cross bunkers and protective bunkers, as well as turtle-back-shaped greens. Overall, the design is far more difficult than it appears. In the first nine holes, successfully completing the first four holes is crucial. In the back nine, two short holes that require crossing ponds and are surrounded by bunkers are key to achieving a good score.
