Gardiners Run Golf Course

Designed by Phil Ryan of Pacific Coast Design, the layout occupies an old quarry with mounds and plantings separating the holes, which are laid out in a modern resort style on flat terrain with occasional water run-off.

The dogleg first hole on the right side of the course is rated par 1 on the scorecard and faces an hourglass green, the first of many such greens on the layout (along with dozens of ‘one size fits all’ bunkers). In the south-east corner of the site, a small pond threatens the tee shots on the par-three 3rd and par-four 6th, but the main water challenge is saved for last, the 380-metre 18th, which sits on a peninsula green in front of the clubhouse. The short par 3 is surely one of the most photographed holes on the course!
