Avondale Golf Club

The club is located in the leafy suburb of Pimble near the centre of Sydney. The 18-hole course is located in one of Australia's most densely populated metropolitan areas, but passing through the discreet entrance leads to another world of secluded fairways where you can enjoy a moment of peace and quiet away from the outside world. 

The 377-yard, par-4 10th is the signature hole of this seriously underrated course, which curves left (out of bounds puts pressure on the tee shot) and then plays downhill to the green. The round ends with three strong par 4s: the 465-yard 16th has a narrowing fairway, the risk/reward 17th offers a lay-up option for the more cautious golfer, and the 18th finishes with a two-tiered green protected by intimidating bunkers.
