As Australia's only Arnold Palmer Signature Course, The Pines Golf Course is recognised as one of Australia's finest and most challenging courses. The course plays through 101 hectares of mature pine forest with corridors leading to a number of holes, others guarded by lakes. Fourteen of the holes are built around six man-made lakes. The Pines Golf Course is home to a variety of wildlife, including rare birds and dozens of Australian native kangaroos.

With fairways running through pine forests and fourteen holes built around six lakes, the Pines course has many trees and water hazards to contend with, so concentration is required throughout. The 386-yard par 4 2nd hole is a difficult par 4 with a sharp turn into a two-tiered putting area, so playing conservatively from the tee is recommended early in the round. In the inner half, the 203-yard 13th hole cuts through a lake to a green that sits above a walled embankment - any short game is bound to get the ball wet.
